Vexaro Desk vs ConnectWise ScreenConnect

ConnectWise ScreenConnect is a widely used remote-support tool, popular with managed service providers, that runs in the cloud or on your own servers. Vexaro Desk is a younger product in early access, with flat per-plan pricing and a self-hosted option on Enterprise. Both handle attended and unattended support; they differ in how they are priced and packaged.

What ConnectWise ScreenConnect offers

ScreenConnect's plans are One, Standard, Premium and Enterprise. One is a single license with one session and ten unattended access agents; Standard and Premium are priced per concurrent technician, with up to three and up to ten sessions per technician and unlimited unattended agents. Session recording starts at Standard, and video auditing is part of Premium. ScreenConnect also offers agent-based licensing and a free trial.

ScreenConnect On-Premise runs on your own infrastructure. The product lists AES-256 encryption, two-factor authentication, audit reports, and integration with LDAP, SAML, OAuth and other single sign-on providers. Technicians can connect through a web browser, and ScreenConnect supports Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile devices.

How Vexaro Desk approaches it

Vexaro Desk is priced by plan, not by technician. Each plan bundles operators, devices and sessions into one monthly price. Starter at $7.90 covers one operator, 50 devices and three sessions at a time, with up to 20 sessions a day of up to 2 hours each. Team at $29.90 covers ten operators, 500 devices and 15 sessions at a time, and each operator can start up to 100 sessions a day of up to 8 hours each. Business at $69.90 covers 50 operators, 2,000 devices and 50 sessions at a time, with no daily or session length limit. Enterprise, from $149, adds self-hosted or on-premises deployment.

Governance grows with the plan: session recording starts at Team, the audit log at Business, and SAML or OIDC single sign-on, LDAP and SCIM directory sync and SIEM export at Enterprise. By default, every session needs the consent of the person at the computer; unattended access is set per machine with an access password.

Sessions are encrypted with TLS 1.3 and are end-to-end encrypted on direct connections; when a network forces a relayed connection, traffic stays encrypted in transit through Vexaro-operated relays. The client runs on Windows today; macOS, Linux and mobile apps are planned, and operators can already connect from a browser through the Vexaro console.
